Description

Caltrain is a commuter rail line between San Francisco and San Jose, California. This update features numerous improvements:
– The Gilroy extension
– A brand-new timetable utilizing the line’s brand new Stadler EMUs (as of September 2024)
– Numerous minor quality of life improvements including accuracy updates and the ability to create automatic signal routes
Local trains run with 30 minute headways all day from 5 am to 12 am the next day. Four express and five limited services run during each peak commute period in each direction. The Gilroy extension is used by the South County Connector service, of which four trains travel from Gilroy to San Jose each morning and return to Gilroy each evening. Also simulated are Altamont Corridor Express and Amtrak trains that utilize Diridon Station.

** South County Connector (SCC) delay procedure:
– SCC and their associated rapid services share the last two digits of their service number
– There is a three minute period for passengers to transfer between the diesel SCC trains to the mainline electric trains.
– For late northbound SCC trains, Express trains can be held for 2 minutes and Limited trains for 5 minutes for passengers to make the connection. Longer delays will require passengers to wait for the next Local train.
– For late southbound connecting rapid services, SCC trains can be held as long as needed to accommodate all passengers.

The original version without the updates is here
